Golovkin: Brook Does Not Quality As A Middleweight

Posted: 10 Sep 2016 11:55 PM PDT

Gennady Golovkin has sent a jibe Kell Brook’s way, saying the British boxer didn’t fight like a middleweight.

Golovkin Remains Undefeated, After Beating Kell Brook In Fifth Round

The undefeated Kazakh boxer absorbed all the punches the British could throw, and he stated he didn’t feel it.

Brook Taken To Hospital With Broken Eye Socket

Kell Brook jumped up two weight divisions, piling on 13lbs more to make middleweight. But Golovkin insists he felt out of his weight class.

“I promised to bring a big drama show because I know Kell is a huge fighter, a very good fighter – but sorry, he’s not a middleweight,” Golovkin told Sky Sports.

“I know my style. I respect him, he’s good, but not so strong.”

Asked if Brook significantly hurt him, Golovkin said: “No, no, he just touched. It’s like training, I stay relaxed, I didn’t feel his power. So many punches, but I didn’t feel.

“Thanks to his corner, for his career, for his family. It’s correct, this. Because I feel it was game over.”

Golovkin’s trainer Abel Sanchez reiterated his belief that no fighter from light-middleweight to super-middleweight could survive the Kazakh.

Sanchez said: “Anybody from 154lbs to 168lbs wouldn’t go 12 rounds with him. Kell is a very good fighter but eventually they’re going to break down.

“Eventually [Golovkin’s] power and ability to land clean punches is going to take effect.”

The IBF, WBC and WBA ‘Super’ champion also sent out a challenge to Britain’s WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders.

Although he claimed to be “absolutely” keen to fight Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, Golovkin’s priority is to add Saunders’ belt to his own collection.

“I’m a boxer, I’m open for everybody, but I want a unification fight,” he said. “First of all, I would like Billy Joe Saunders because he has the WBO belt.”

Brook Taken To Hospital With Broken Eye Socket

Posted: 10 Sep 2016 11:41 PM PDT

Kell Brook had to be taken to the hospital for a broken eye socket, after his defeat to Gennady Golovkin.

Golovkin Remains Undefeated, After Beating Kell Brook In Fifth Round

Dominic Ingle threw in the towel in the fifth round of the O2 Arena bout, after seeing his boxer had severe visual impairment.

The British boxer would have gone on for longer, and insists he is eager to get back in the ring.

Brook moved up two weight divisions to face Golovkin and even though he called for a fight of the winner of Saul Canelo Alvarez v Liam Smith, he admits that he may now be better suited to light middleweight in his next fight, despite having an IBF title to defend at welterweight.

“In the second round, he broke my eye socket but I was tricking him, I was frustrating him. I was starting to settle into it but when you see three, four, five of them, it’s difficult,” said Brook.

“I’d be most suited at light-middle. I know (Liam) Smith and ‘Canelo’ (Saul Alvarez) are fighting next week: I would love the winner.

“He’s a scary champion but I would fight him again. I’m trying to give back to the fans and I hope they enjoyed the fight while it lasted.

“It wasn’t my night because there was much more to come from me but I was seeing five of them out there.

“I’m a warrior, I want to carry on, I was ready to fight on. Anyone who trains with me knows that.

“I was starting to come on. We knew the first five or six rounds would be tough, but you would have to talk to my coach to ask him why he pulled me out. I’ll be back.”

National Drivers’ Licence Now Valid For 5 Years

Posted: 10 Sep 2016 11:41 PM PDT

A new validity period of five years for the National Drivers' Licence has been announced by the Lagos State Motor Vehicle Administration Agency, MVAA, last week.

This is just as the agency at the 134th meeting of the Federal Road Safety Commission's Joint Tax Board explained that the choice to have it remains optional.

Speaking at the meeting, the General Manager of the Agency, Mr. Lateef Lawal, said the decision was taken in order to ease off the renewal/reissue process of the driver's licence.

Mr. Lawal also commended the initiative and maintained that with the new feature, applicants have the opportunity to either select the option of three or five year validity period.

This he said, adding that applicants who are unable to complete the processing within a specific time now have an extended period for renewing the licence.

This Day quoted him as saying that the processing fees remain at N6,350 for the three-year period and N10,350 for five year option, inclusive of bank charges, even as he had stressed that the initiative is aimed at improving on service delivery and ensuring that the service is readily available to all applicants.

The General Manager however urged intending applicants to patronise only accredited driving schools following which an e-certificate will be issued to commence the process of obtaining a driver's licence.

Golovkin Remains Undefeated, After Beating Kell Brook In Fifth Round

Posted: 10 Sep 2016 11:20 PM PDT

Kell Brook did not make it past the sixth round in his bid to overthrow Gennady Golovkin as middleweight champion.

The undefeated Kazakh (36-0 33KO) was up to the task against a younger Brook, who jumped up two weight divisions to challenge GGG.

Official Weigh In: Brook Is Heavier Than Golovkin

The 30-year-old British boxer was breaking Golovkin’s defence and landing a few punches. Buy the 34-year-old boxer shook him up the most with his heavy punches.

And with shots raining down on Brook in the fifth round, his trainer Dominic Ingle threw in the towel.

It was Brook’s first defeat in his 37th professional fight, while the undefeated GGG now has 33 knockouts from 36 fights, including 23 in a row.

Kell Brook Not Worried About Golovkin's Power

GGG backed Ingle’s decision, saying: “I think he’s smart, I respect his corner. Seriously, the last round he couldn’t breathe or move.”

Happy Recession, Nigeria!

Happy Recession, Nigeria!, By Gimba Kakanda

We do not know the exact starting date of this historic festival, nor are we in the know of its likely ending date. I mean this festival of inflation and hunger, unemployment and job cuts, liquidation and crime, mental health crises and despair. There's something savagely beautiful about celebrating our misery, about refusing to see it as a danger, preferring to call it a mere "word", for example, since it does not threaten the existence of those in the political house – elected politicians and their allies in and out of the corridor of power.

This piece was written by Gimba Kakanda. The views and opinions expressed here are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of 360Nobs.com.

Some think the decision to celebrate our misery was taken on our behalf by our foreign-sounding Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun. It's a fact that she called the decline in our Gross Domestic Product by -2.06 percent a recession, a mere word. And it's also a fact that she has not told us why a decline in one sector – which contributed only 15 percent of the GDP, according to her professional colleagues – has resulted in a recession. This is somewhat strange for an administration that claims to have been diversifying, contradicting reports that our non-oil exports have dropped by 43 percent.

Adeosun's denial of our threatening reality is a familiar trend amongst our governing elite. Reacting to the ranking of Nigeria as one of the five poorest countries in the world by the World Bank, then President Goodluck Jonathan said, "Nigeria is not a poor country. Nigerians are the most travelled people. There is no country you go that you will not see Nigerians." And then, "I visited Kenya recently on a state visit and there was a programme for Nigerian and Kenyan business men to interact and the number of private jets that landed in Nairobi that day was a subject of discussion in Kenyan media for over a week."

This disheartening yardstick of measuring poverty was actually that of a president of a nation "with almost 100 million people living on less than a $1 (£0.63) a day" – according a 2012 data. So, it didn't come as a surprise reading the similarly elitist delusion of Mr. Bayo Onanuga, a journalist whose class suicide as a firebrand critic of elitism and military brutality to a former senatorial candidate and now head of the government-controlled News Agency of Nigeria is as intriguing as it comes. He pandered to Jonathan's thinking, that the luxurious lifestyles of beneficiaries of the nation's most corrupt class represents the realities of a blacksmith in Potiskum, a roadside yam seller in Ogbomosho and a vulcaniser in Onitsha.

To Mr. Onanuga, a text message from his London-bound daughter – "Daddy, the flight was filled up o" – was a confirmation of his belief that reports of economic hardship in Nigeria were untrue and the true situation exaggerated. His reaction to the threatened existence of citizens who may go to bed tonight without any means is Denial. It is a style of engagement widely adopted by other government appointees, all understandably immune to hunger.

…since we are in reality being asked to celebrate this severe economic downturn, let me kindly wish Nigerians toasting to national misery a happy recession.

On various social media platforms, other outspoken political appointees have been publishing statistics that not only repel our realities but attempt to create an imaginary paradise for Nigerians. In line with the festive nature of the times, of course. Even the president's media managers seem to believe their bogus statistics and grandstanding on Twitter will redeem the growing inflation and hunger nationwide. But the truth is that it is even their confrontational and combative style of communicating these alternate realities that will multiply the army of displeased citizens. It's unfortunate that our friends who used to be critical of the government suddenly are now quick to say to say, "You guys are too critical" on finally jumping ship.

Like our politicians, the trappings of political power have confused the conscience of our former civic allies. They have become even worse than the Establishment they once antagonised. Instead of delivering on their roles of advising their principals, they are becoming intolerably obnoxious, giving the managers of our economy illusions of good performance and misleading public perception.

The governing elite have succeeded in recruiting the Bayo Onanugas into contradictions of their old values, so that they now see the civic vigilance they were once known for as a social nuisance. It has got to the point that when a critic points to a snake, the politicians were given power to hire able hands to kill, he's asked to tell the government how to kill it. And this, unfortunately, is the mentality of the praise-singing brigade stationed to defend our politicians. The critic highlights shortcomings to get the government's think-tank ticking. You can't be in possession of a fire extinguisher and ask the man who alerts you to fire to quench it for you!

If a leader expects more from critics after being shown a flaw in his idea, he's either incompetent or his lieutenants are due for the sack. The similarity between a critic and a politician is that both have ideas. The difference is what matters. Only one has access to popular political legitimacy, administrative machinery and the public purse. But since we are in reality being asked to celebrate this severe economic downturn, let me kindly wish Nigerians toasting to national misery a happy recession. May God save us from us!

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome On Marriage And Equality: “Husband Means Master”

Posted: 10 Sep 2016 07:21 PM PDT

A man and a woman are not equal in marriage, according to Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.

The General Overseer of Christ Embassy made the statement in a recent sermon. He said marriages failed these days because women thought they were equal to men.

Oyakhilome is himself single, after recently finalizing his divorce from Anita Obhodaghe.

Oyakhilome used the bible to support his sermon, saying that the woman is supposed to submit to the man.

Oyakhilome – No equality in marriage

He said, "They believe they are equal partners. (But) 'husband' does not mean the male partner in a marriage, husband means master.

READ: Beware Of Fake Men Of God – Anita Oyakhilome

"The Bible says the man is the head of the woman (1 Corinthians 11:3) so when you marry him, you come under his authority. You are not authority sharers, even though you are both heirs to the kingdom of God."

"God is not going to accept what you are doing because you are not functioning correctly. Why did God make the woman? If most women had fathers bold enough to talk to them, they would be very successful in their marriage and they would be very happy people.

"Most women have never been taught by their parents, their fathers particularly and that's their biggest problem because they don't know who a man is. They think he is another woman," he said.

What do you think?

13 Dead, 203 Wounded As Earthquake Rips Through Tanzania

Posted: 10 Sep 2016 04:35 PM PDT

No less than 13 persons have been killed with over 203 injured in northwest Tanzania after a 5.7 magnitude earthquake hit the country on Saturday, local authorities told AFP.

“The toll has climbed from 11 people dead to 13 and from 192 injured to 203,” said Deodatus Kinawilo, District Commissioner for Bukoba, the town close to the epicentre of the quake.

“For now, the situation is calm and under control.”

“Some people have been discharged from hospital,” he told AFP. “We don’t expect many more injuries. We’ll see tomorrow.”

The quake struck close to the border with Uganda and Rwanda near Lake Victoria but the tremors were felt as far away as western Kenya.

Rescue workers told the BBC that local hospitals are full and cannot cope with the number of injured. Buildings have collapsed and people are still trapped underneath the rubble.

There was no damage reported in the economic capital, Dar es Salaam, which is located some 1,400 kilometres southeast of Bukoba.

“It’s safe in Dar but we are still worried about the safety of our family,” the AFP correspondent added. “The regional hospital is overwhelmed and can’t handle any more patients.”

“Emergency operations are poor and the government isn’t saying anything,” he said.

EROTICA: The First Date

Posted: 10 Sep 2016 01:52 PM PDT

We both wanted to fuck, it was as simple as that, but we were doing the normal and conventional thing.

That Friday evening, we were sitting across from each other in a semi-crowded restaurant and pretending that we were both not interested in tearing each other’s clothes off.

I guess I understood why he would need to pretend, though. He was probably worried he would scare me off if he expressed his interest in fucking me on the first date. I did not blame him. This was not my style either, but as soon as I walked him and saw how handsome my blind date was, all sense left the room.

He seemed to feel the same way too because as I strolled into the room, covered in a skin-tight red dress that moulded my curves, his mouth parted in a gasp. His eyes were drawn to my cleavage all through the date so much that I wondered if he would even remember what my facial features were like. I smiled indulgently, choosing not to call him out on it since my thoughts were also not that pure.

It was getting a little late. Neither of us wanted to say goodbye, but we knew we had to. I was dreading returning home unfulfilled when he said, “there is a really cool bar near my house, would you like to come?”

I was thrilled to.

Alcohol certainly was magic. He became a lot more open after a couple of beers and so did I. We tried not to venture into how much we wanted to plough each other, but we both opened up about the sexual attraction we felt. The discussion plus the liquor helped us come to a mutually beneficial agreement. I agreed to spend the night at his house.

He opened the door to let me in. It was dark inside his studio apartment, there was no power. He found a lamp and put it on. He was facing me and talking about switching on the generator when suddenly, I moved closer to him. My arms were wrapped around him and we were soon kissing like randy teenagers. His hands were all over me. He ran his palms up and down my body through my clothes then came to settle on my ass as we kissed, I moved my pelvis against him, wanting to feel something, anything, as I was drowning in need. I soon began to work on his buttons, needing him to be free and naked. As soon as his trousers shorts came down, I wrapped my hand around his erect member. Damn, I hit the jackpot, the size was impressive.

My hand on his dick was his undoing. He peeled off my dress and immediately reached down to tease my nipple through the lace bra I wore. I moaned, my hand tightening on his cock. He groaned and pushed the bra down so my breasts were freed. He palmed them both, flicking one nipple with his thumb and covering the other with his hot mouth.

I could not handle the waiting anymore. I pushed him towards the bed and climbed on top of him. I bent down to kiss him again, my nipples grazing his chest so sweetly.

I pushed up to hurriedly take off my panties which were already damp with proof of my arousal. His eyes were on me as I settled down on him and slipped his dick into my waiting cunt. I moaned even louder as I felt it slide through my tight walls. He let out a groan too as his cock made its way through my warmth. I sat still for a second, enjoying the feel of him in me. It had been way too long since I had sex, I needed to savour this. He grabbed my hips and pushed me in an upwards position, urging me to move. I did as he wanted. I slowly began to move up and down on me, his dick slipping so amazingly in and out. I wanted to cry out in bliss. He brought one hand to my cunt and began to play around with my pussy, using his finger.

“Yes, don’t stop,” I said, feeling my orgasm build.

He intensified the pressure and I could feel myself starting to unravel. I cried out as my orgasm escaped me, quaking and grinding against his cock.

He watched me cum, looking at me in awe as my face scrunched up and my pussy tightened around him. He began to pant heavily as I arched my back, feeling his cock throb inside me.

I began bouncing up and down on him, moving so high that the tip of his cock was at the entrance of my pussy, before roughly bearing down so deep I could feel it graze against my cervix. I kept moving up and down this way until he began to moan and groan louder, grasping me tight at the waist to keep me still, then cumming hard into my pussy.

We lay there in our aftermath for a few seconds.

“I would love to do this again,” he said.

“We’ve got all night,” I whispered back.

No Burner With Timmy Turner: Desiigner’s Gun Charges Dropped

Posted: 10 Sep 2016 01:19 PM PDT

Rapper Desiigner has been released from jail after drug and gun charges against him were dropped.

He had been arrested on Thursday night, after police stopped the car he was in and found drugs inside. Police had been tipped to the car after another driver had claimed the rapper pulled a gun on them.

A search of the vehicle didn’t produce any guns. However, numerous drugs reportedly including Oxycontin, methadone and steroids were found.

Desiigner freed of gun and drug charges

There were five of them in the car, and all were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of drugs with intent to sell. The Panda rapper was additionally charged with felony criminal possession of a loaded weapon.

Both charges have however now been dropped, and Desiigner is now being arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court on three misdemeanor counts of menacing and drug possession.

"There's nothing here. There's nothing recovered," his attorney, Adam Konta, said. "There really is nothing here."

"They tried to keep me in but when you’re doing right they can’t," the 19-year old rapper said after posting bail.

"It’s dangerous to say that just because there were four black men in a car they had guns and drugs," the attorney for Desiigner’s friends, Ian Niles said. "Who that was who reported needs to be figured out."

5 Reasons You Have More Belly Fat Than Your Friends

Posted: 10 Sep 2016 12:40 PM PDT

Belly fat is bad news whether for a male or female and not just because you want to show off your abs or flat tummy but because it has an overall healthy implication.

Continuous research has suggested that the size of your tummy and waist can be a risk factor for serious diseases than your overall body fat percentage. Deep lying visceral fat found deep in the abdomen is responsible for belly fat.

Visceral fat is found surrounding internal organs and they release chemicals into the body which can cause oxidative damage. Too much belly fat can lead to diabetes, some type of cancers, stroke, and damage to blood vessels and organs.

The first thing to do to reduce belly fat is to avoid foods rich in carbohydrates and added sugars. Embracing a diet rich in whole grains, healthy days and fresh produce can go a long way in reducing your belly fat.

Exercises can also do wonders but despite all the above, some people still have a hard time shedding fat from their middle which is not due to bad luck. Here are five reasons all the food you eat appear to go straight to your tummy and turn into belly fat.

You’re Stressed

Research has suggested that a lot of people accumulate fat in their tummy when they are stressed. When you’re stressed or under pressure, the body produces and releases more of the hormone – cortisol. This hormone can cause you to crave for more sugary and fatty foods to provide comfort. The hormone also alters body chemistry in a way that your calories burned slower and get stored as fat.

A spike in your cortisol levels is usually in response to adrenaline release as a result of an actual life-or-death situation. In the fast paced world of today, everyone gets stressed on occasion, but if you’re always in a fight-or-flight mode you may want to see a doctor or therapist for consultation.

You’re Sleeping Too Little Or Too Much

Sleeping less than five hours every night has been linked to an increase in belly fat. The surprising thing however is sleeping for more than eight hours can also cause an increase in belly fat.

Being sleep deprived will cause body metabolism to reduce in order to preserve energy which will cause you to eat more than you should. More so, researchers are not exactly sure the reason why people who sleep a lot add extra fat around the middle but more time in bed could mean a reduction in the time you spend being active. The sleep of each individual varies but it’s best to stick to between seven to nine hours per night cycle.

You’re Genetically Inclined To Be Fat

Genetics go a long way in determining what part of your body you store your fat. A quick look at your family tree can help you determine if a lot of your parents are apple-shaped or pear-shaped. If a lot of people from your family tree fall into the apple category, you may have to do a lot to limit your calorie intake and stick to exercising to stop your belly from protruding.

There’s A Paradigm Shift In Your Hormones
When women hit menopause, those that were formerly pear-shaped (carry most of their weight on their hips and thighs) usually realize that their bellies begin to increase in size. This is usually as a result of a drop in oestrogen and a slow down in body metabolism as a result of aging.

A good way to stop this is to build your muscles by concentrating on your core through exercises.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
PCOS affects as much as 20 percent of women during their reproductive years because such women have higher testosterone levels and most times find themselves gaining weight, especially around their waist.

Symptoms of PCOS may include irregular periods, excess body hair, and pimples. It is best to talk to a doctor if you suspect you have this condition to prescribe the right medications.

Rumours had made the round that the afro-juju legend, better known as KSA, and the effervescently reverberating veteran, were engaged in a romantic relationship following the release of "wait for me" years back.

However, KSA, during a press parley on his 70th birthday, disclosed that there was nothing between them, adding that the song was just a gimmick to drive home a message for a healthy relationship among the youth back then.

He said, "I didn't have any crush on Onyeka then. Even before that song, we had recorded some songs together. She was (and still is) just a colleague. She is a good woman. We did that song just for us to teach the young people the essence of having a healthy relationship.

"Haba! How can I take another wife? Is that a curse or are you praying for me? I am not ready for any new wife."

"It is just by his grace that He has made it possible for me to live up to this age. He alone has given me strength to perform. I love what I do and that is why I can never be tired. I came back from the US and I was told I had to perform somewhere and I went. I am never tired and my age will not slow me down."
