Zabaleta: City Are Lucky To Have Guardiola

Posted: 07 Sep 2016 11:00 PM PDT

Pablo Zabaleta says Manchester City are lucky to have Pep Guardiola as manager, believing he can take the club to the next stage.

The former Bayern manager has impressed already at City, securing three wins in three matches.

He has won German and Spanish titles with Bayern and Barcelona, and has also enjoyed European success at Barcelona.

And that experience makes Zabaleta believe the current City squad can go from strength to strength in the coming years.

“I think for players when you have the opportunity to work with the best managers it’s something really special,” he is quoted as saying by the Daily Star.

“The experience will be great and I’m sure that in the next three years the club will make a step forward.

“I am absolutely sure of this because Pep Guardiola is one of the greatest managers and we are so lucky to have him at Manchester City.

“For him it’s a new experience of the Premier League, a different league, and so I think the players will need to try and help him.

“Especially those of us who have been here a long time who know the Premier League very well. We need to work as a group and try to play well.

“His style of play is maybe a bit different to what we’ve done in the past. But that is normal every time you work under a new manager with their own ideas. You have to work hard.”

ICYMI: Ronaldinho Set To Hang His Boots

Posted: 07 Sep 2016 11:00 PM PDT

Brazil legend and former Barcelona and Milan star, Ronaldinho has revealed he is prepared to end his 18 years long career.

The 36-year-old is one of the few players to boast both Champions League and Copa Libertadores winners medals, and he also lifted the World Cup with Brazil back in 2002.

But having struggled to settle at any single club since leaving Atletico Mineiro in 2014, he believes it is time to call it a day.

“I am an old man now, I am 36,” he told reporters at a press conference in New York.

“I am no longer 26 like I once was, and I am looking at what I can do to mark an end to my career. The plan is to play one more year.

While he gave few clues on what the future might hold, Ronaldinho affirmed that he may well be entering the music world.

“I am immersed in new projects, related to music and football which are, as you know, my two passions,” he said.

“I am looking at new things that I have always liked and we will see what we will do this year.”

NBMA Denies Presence Of Poisonous Rice In Nigeria

Posted: 07 Sep 2016 06:55 PM PDT

Reports of genetically-modified and thus poisonous rice being present in the Nigerian market are false.

This is according to Dr. Rufus Ebegba, the Director-General of the National Biosafety Management Agency.

He said, "The attention of the NBMA has been drawn to a certain online post that a firm and the government of Nigeria have flooded the Nigerian market with the GM rice purported to be poisonous.

"This falsehood definitely is the product of the writer's imagination, who probably is using a pseudo name.

"As a regulatory body established by the government to regulate the activities of modern biotechnology and the release and use of genetically modified organisms in the country to ensure safety to the environment and human health, the NBMA wishes to state that there is no iota of truth in the said post and reinstates that no GM rice has either been imported or released officially into the country.

No poisonous rice in Nigeria

"In a bid to cast aspersions on the modest efforts of the government towards the adoption of safe biotechnology in Nigeria, the writer craftly and maliciously laced his post with poison to cause unnecessary public panic."

He added, "No GM rice has been commercially released anywhere in the world. It should also be recalled that the government has banned the importation of rice in Nigeria. This ban was widely publicised in the media and there are no indications that the ban has been lifted.

"The NBMA therefore enjoins Nigerians to disregard the post and join hands with the agency in its quest to ensure safety in the practice of modern biotechnology in Nigeria in line with global best practices."

It was gathered that hotel management became suspicious after the guest did not come down for breakfast on Tuesday morning. Multiple calls were placed to his room phone and his personal mobile phone without answer. His business partner was contacted by hotel management and his hotel room door was forced open. This is how he was discovered dead close to the door. It’s not clear if he had committed suicide with the rope found beside him.

Nigerian Arrested For Forging Ghana’s Chief Of Staff’s Signature

Posted: 07 Sep 2016 05:42 PM PDT

A Nigerian man has been arrested by Police in Osu, Ghana. He was busted for using the name of top government officials to defraud a foreign investor of about $150,000.

The 38-year-old man, Dennis Ndukwu, is alleged to have forged the signatures of Ghana’s Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah as well as the Minister of Finance, Seth Terkper and other high profile personalities. The operations of Dennis and his gang was found out in June this year following suspicion by the victim’s bankers.

According to the police, Dennis Ndukwu and his gang, through internet hacking found out about the victim’s challenges, the victim a Vietnamese investor who had already invested over $8.5 million in Ghana. Dennis introduced himself to the investor, Le Van Khiem as the secretary to the chief of staff. He explained that he could use the high office to assist him.

The Police said Dennis later produced various documents. These documents had the signatures of the Chief of Staff and the Finance Minister Seth Terkper. These documents convinced the victim to give out his personal items including his Visa card and security code to Dennis and his gang. He allowed them withdraw $100,000 from his account to aid the process. The unusual withdrawal attracted Mr Van Khiem’s banker’s attention and he raised a query on the account. After noticing the bank had blocked the account, the gang still managed to get the victim to part with several thousands of dollars.

It was during the final withdrawal of the money transfer that Dennis was arrested by Police. He was stopped at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle. He admitted the offense and also mentioned one Robert Amuzu as an accomplice.

What Do Blowjobs Really Feel Like?

Posted: 07 Sep 2016 05:15 PM PDT

So, blowjobs: Why is it a criteria for the perfect girl for some guys? Why do guys love them so much? What does it really feel like?

When it comes to sex, its really difficult to understand why things feel how they do for certain people, or why people enjoy certain things in bed. Blowjobs are no different, we know most guys enjoy receiving them. I mean there’s a study that found that over 70% of guys prefer oral sex to actual intercourse but the question here is, what does it actually feel like for them? So I gathered my own study group and asked a couple guys to explain what it really feels like for them.

These were their responses

  • It’s a vulnerable yet memorable and oh so beautiful experience
  • It like i’m being punished as it won’t get me to where i want to go, at least not yet
  • It feels like the best thing ever, eyes rolling back in their sockets, toes curling. It’s really the best thing
  • It feels like a body massage, eases me of stress. I just lay there, eyes closed and forget about all the worry in the world
  • It feels amazing, Head is life to be honest.
  • It’s the same feeling i get when i receive unexpected money
  • zrxctgghbdrthdufitnd there are not enough alphabets to describe how it makes me feel
  • I don’t like it
  • Woman on her knees, i feel like i’m being worshipped
  • With someone that knows what she’s doing, its SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICESPIALIDOCIOUS!
  • It feels degrading to the woman and I don’t like it because of that
  • I like that women have more control at that time, I find it really hot
  • It feels amazing, plus it’s all of the positives of sex without all the work
  • It feels really dangerous to me, so it’s more fear than pleasure

Obviously some of the guys don’t like it as much as the others. For me , It’s …………………………..

Who The Parallel Forex Market ‘Epp’?

Posted: 07 Sep 2016 02:54 PM PDT

Who the Parallel Forex Market 'Epp'?, By Olamide Eyinla

The main issue in Nigeria presently is the value of the naira. Sometime in June 2016, the naira was floated to reflect its true value as the government ran out of resources to maintain her defence of the artificial value of the naira. Ceteris paribus, this decision would lead to the eventual closure of the parallel market. Sadly, this aspiration remains an aspiration and does not look like it would be actualised any time soon.

This piece was written by Olamide Eyinla. The views and opinions expressed here are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of 360Nobs.com.

A layman's definition of the parallel market would shed some more light on why it remains a vibrant option in Nigeria despite the seemingly deliberate attempt to eradicate its existence. According to Google, a parallel market is an unofficial market in goods or currencies, especially in a country with a 'controlled' economy. Now, this is where the problem lies. As stated earlier, the foreign exchange market was deregulated in June. What this ordinarily should lead to is a systematic closure of the parallel market, however, the market remains as viable as ever.

Now, why is the parallel market in Nigeria reluctant to die? I am of the opinion that the market condition calls for it. Like every market, there must be a buyer and a seller which are consequences of demand and supply. The truth is that there is a state policy to create demand for foreign currencies through the parallel market. When there was financial pressure on the dollar supply before the deregulation of the naira, the monetary policy custodian in Nigeria – the Central Bank (CBN) placed a ban on the provision of the scarce dollars for the importation of 41 items that can potentially be produced in Nigeria. These items range from rice, margarine, palm kernel/palm oil/vegetable oil, textiles, clothes, plastic and rubber products, polypropylene granules, cellophane wrappers, etc.

The logic behind these bans are commendable and necessary in order to develop the products locally, however the kind of ban effected was the incorrect one. The CBN, noting the importance of some of these products, decided not to allow their importers access to dollars through the official sources. This situation led to the demand for forex that needs to be met. The value of the demand was premium and hence, capitalists sought avenues to meet this demand by placing more value on forex than obtains through the official channel. This led to the creation of the much vilified parallel market. To further exacerbate the case, these demands are in billions of dollars. The attractiveness of the parallel market to its operators and sellers allows for the availability of more supply of forex in this market, thereby making it a market of choice to buyers.

The market is often on a cash and carry basis, and hence attractive to the buyers and sellers alike. With the current scarcity of forex in the official market, the parallel market becomes more attractive, leading to the increase in the price of the dollar and an over 20 percent price differential between the official and parallel market rates. The effect of this behaviour cannot be over-emphasised as the current inflationary trend in Nigeria is a cost-push one, which is primarily as a consequence of the parallel market price of the dollar, as manufacturers also patronise this market to meet with their dollar requirements as the speed of access is guaranteed.

A thorough look at the current foreign exchange market reveals a controlled currency market. We know that in a free market, the price of goods or a currency will be determined at the equilibrium of demand and supply, but certainly, the current price of forex is not at equilibrium hence its scarcity. Sadly, the parallel market price is closer to the equilibrium, hence there is an improved and reliable supply there in comparison to the official market. How else can Nigeria react to a massive drop of activities in the official foreign exchange market? Barely two years ago, the foreign exchange market traded an average of 300 million dollars per day, but now trades 1.5 million dollars a day. This shows the level of decline in the official market, meaning that the parallel market has increased in size significantly.

So to the topical question: Who benefits the most from the parallel market? I am of the opinion that only the market operators do. The buyers and the sellers in this market do not benefit as much as they might believe because they pay way too much premium on the forex they procure. Any gain made by either the buyers or sellers from the market is short term as the economy cannot develop on the high level of the vibrancy of the parallel market. When the choice market for forex buyers or sellers is the parallel market, there is no way the economy can develop or get out from whatever financial quagmire it is in.

So, to manage the parallel market into extinction, I am of the opinion that the first decision is to reduce the demand in that market, and consequently reduce the supply. To reduce demand, the CBN needs to unban all the 41 items on its ban list for access to forex and then the Customs Service can ban the importation of all the 41 items. For some that may not be outrightly banned, increases in their excise duties should be introduced to reduce their viability for import. A waiver (reduction and not total) can be issued to businesses that can prove that they (or their sister companies) have investments locally that can produce these items in the country.

Pertaining to the reduction of supply, ordinarily a decline in demand leads to a reduction in the price of forex. This reduces an incentive to sell forex in the parallel market. Other ways are for the government to increase dollar receipt through securing the Niger Delta, since that would reduce demand for petrol as power generation improves, refinery productivity improves, and income earnable from crude oil and gas improves. The Nigeria Exports Promotion Council should have incentives for exporters who repatriate their fund through official channels.

Olamide Eyinla, a Human Resources practitioner, wrote from Lagos.

Landlord Evicts Tenants For Supporting APC

Posted: 07 Sep 2016 11:03 AM PDT

A landlord in Edo state has evicted at least 5 tenants in his house in Uzea Community, Esan North East Local Government Area for supporting the All Progressive Congress.

The landlord, identified as Mr David Agberemole, who is a supporter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has apparently been making life hard for the APC supporting tenants.

PDP landlord evicts APC tenants

One of the tenants, Okosun Christiana said, “We don’t have any problem, just party differences. He told us he wanted everyone in his house to support PDP because he is a member of the party but I refused. I told him I have been in APC for a long time. Even if PDP is buying me a car I prefer to remain in the APC. He said if that’s my stand, i should consider myself evicted from his house.”

Another of the evicted tenants, Sylvester Chukwuemeka revealed that his rents were up to date. He also added that the actions of the landlord were unfair just because they refused to support the PDP.

“I don’t understand why the landlord will just decide to drive us out of his house because we are not supporting PDP. I pay my rent regularly and this is not fair to me. The state government should come to our aid. I don’t know when it became a crime to support a party.”

Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd.), enjoined all Muslim faithful and Nigerians in general to support, co-operate and join hands with President Muhammadu Buhari "in his sustained efforts to diversify the economy and progressively accelerate the pace of economic recovery."

A statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja from the office of the acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Alhaji Muhammadu Maccido, stated that the government was aware of the present economic challenges confronting the nation, due to the downturn in oil prices.

The statement continued: "The minister  expresses optimism that the present economic difficulties will soon be over and therefore urges all to continue to support the government towards building a new formidable Nigeria where peace, unity, security and sustainable development are guaranteed. He wishes all Nigerians, a happy Eid-el-Kabir celebration."
