VIDEO: Boddhi Satva & Dj Satelite ft. Fredy Massamba – Xe Mana Bella Posted: 12 Oct 2016 11:50 PM PDT Xe Mana Bella is the new single produced by The Ancestral Soul don dada, Mr. Boddhi Satva in collaboration with Angola’s own Dj Satelite and Congo-Brazza’s polyphonic master Fredy Massamba. Skilfully mixing 4 different languages in one song from Sango (C.A.R’s national language) to Portuguese, Lingala and Kikongo. "Xe Mana Bella" is nothing short of a cultural wealth and creative avant guard that we can expect from the Offering head honcho. What does Xe Mana Bella means? Xe (pronounced Che) is a word created by Angolans to call attention, convey admiration, exclamation, etc. Mana is a subjective word that is used to address an older person or even portray a woman. The song therefor tells the story of three gentleman (Boddhi Satva, Dj Satelite and Fredy Massamba) charmed by the stunning beauty and dancing skills of a stunning lady minding her own endeavours on the dance floor. The song tries to depict today’s interaction between people of opposite sexes and how one hopes to get the favours of the other using different sets of seductive approaches to basic from natural, philosophical and material type. The music video for "Xe Mana Bella" follows three women impersonating Boddhi Satva, Dj Satelite and Fredy Massamba—one strolls through Lisbon, the other sings on the street and the last one throws down a beach DJ set at Portugal's Praia do Rei. Tammy Abraham : I Always Get Positive Messages From Chelsea Posted: 12 Oct 2016 05:10 PM PDT Tammy Abraham has revealed he has received positive messages from Chelsea after his impressive start to the season. The forward has scored 11 goals on loan at Bristol City, and told The Sun: “The messages that I've got from them have just been really positive – but I've been getting advice on key areas that I can improve on too. "That's what I try to do, keep going and improving. And luckily that's what I've been doing and showing people what I'm capable of doing." Abraham admits he still needs to work on his finishing and improve on hitting the target from outside of the area. 'I think I could have more shots from long range and outside the box,' he said. 'Not every game you will get chances inside the area, so if I want to keep scoring then I need to vary my finishes. 'Left and right foot from outside the box – that's something I am always working on to try and improve and hopefully keep me scoring.' According to the Daily Mail, there is already interest in the 19-year-old from Crystal Palace, Swansea and Brighton, among others. Per Mertesacker Discusses Possible Return To Werder Bremen Posted: 12 Oct 2016 04:37 PM PDT Per Mertesacker has discussed the possibility of rejoining Werder Bremen, according to the German club’s captain. Mertesacker remains Arsenal’s skipper but is out of contract next summer and yet to play this season because of a serious knee injury. Current Bremen skipper Clemens Fritz told Bild: “We’ve talked about it [a return to Bremen]. It would be a good thing for the club.” Mertesacker this month said he would consider his future from January, when he will be free to discuss pre-contract terms with club on the continent. The World Cup winner has seen Arsenal sign £35m compatriot Shkodran Mustafi since his pre-season injury, but he told Kicker magazine: “I believe that I can reach a level again on which I am important for the team. I have the feeling that this is not the end. “The more time I allow my knee, the longer I’ll be able to play football. I can increase the workload already and I am no longer in pain.”

Steve Bruce Appointed Manager Of Aston Villa Posted: 12 Oct 2016 04:33 PM PDT Aston Villa have confirmed the appointment of Steve Bruce as the club’s new manager. The former Birmingham City and Hull boss replaces Roberto Di Matteo after the Italian was sacked by the club on October 3rd after just 122 days in charge. Tony Xia, Villa's owner, pointed to Bruce's track record of winning promotion from the Championship – something he has done four times, with Birmingham City and Hull City twice each – as well as his experience of managing in the Premier League as key factors in the club's decision. Bruce is expected to bring in Keith Bertschin and Stephen Clemence, who worked alongside him at Hull, to be part of his backroom staff at Villa. His first task will be to lift morale among a group of players who have won only once this season – against Rotherham United on 13 August – and are 19th in the Championship with only 10 points from 11 matches. "It's a wonderful opportunity," Bruce said. "It is one of the big clubs of this country. To be given the opportunity to manage it is terrific. I relish the challenge of trying to take the club where it wants to go and needs to be – and try to turn around the misfortune we seem to have had over the past few years. I am absolutely delighted to have been given the chance. I hope I can do my stuff." Bruce spent the best part of six years in charge of Birmingham City in the noughties and will return to St Andrew's in a little more than two weeks' time, in what will be his fourth game in charge of Villa, when the two clubs meet in a second city derby that will now have an additional edge. The 29-year-old, who has made 81 appearances for the Baggies, was due to be a free agent next summer. "It's brilliant for me to extend my contract, especially at a time when the club are bringing in some top players," he told the club website. “This is a great family club and the lads are brilliant to play with. “I just want to keep playing Premier League football alongside some top players that can hopefully help us climb into the top 10.” Gardner, who joined West Brom on a free transfer from Sunderland in 2014, has made 81 appearances for the club, scoring six goals. Paul Pogba : I’m Still Adapting At Manchester United Posted: 12 Oct 2016 04:20 PM PDT Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has admitted he is still learning to adapt as he adjusts to life under Jose Mourinho. The France international returned to Old Trafford in a £89m world-record switch this summer, but has been asked to curb his more attacking instincts in the current United set-up. The France playmaker sealed a return to the Premier League giants in a world-record transfer this summer but has only shown glimpses of his undoubted talent. His manager, Jose Mourinho, has opted to play the former Juventus star in various midfield positions including a deeper role. “I try to adapt,” Pogba told the Manchester Evening News. “I am a player who would rather go forward. The coach gave me instructions, I try to follow them. “I have to retrieve balls and make defensive efforts. It cost me a bit to play differently, much like Pirlo. I have to play, be there to recover and play more for the team.” The post Paul Pogba : I’m Still Adapting At Manchester United appeared first on 360Nobs.com. |
“Steve McClaren Always Our First Choice” – Derby County Posted: 12 Oct 2016 04:15 PM PDT There were a few names linked with the Derby job, but club president and chief executive Sam Rush says Steve McClaren was the “prime candidate”. "We enjoyed some fantastic and memorable moments under Steve during his previous tenure in charge,” he told the club website. “Steve's arrival and subsequent work helped transform how we played our football. Steve's time at Derby came to a premature end and I know he regrets that greatly. He values hugely his relationship with our supporters and I know that he will work very hard to ensure that the special connection returns. “When we sat down as a board to begin the process of appointing a new manager it was apparent, as the architect of our style of football, that Steve was a prime candidate. “Mel Morris, our chairman, is clear about the plan for Derby County and we strongly believe that with Chris Powell, alongside Steve, we can ensure a successful future ahead.” McClaren was dismissed at the iPro Stadium in May last year after the club failed to reach the Championship play-offs, despite spending most of the season in the top six. His return may not sit too comfortably with some Derby fans who still blame McClaren for the team’s late failure to win promotion, saying his refusal to rule out a move to Newcastle United was a distraction. Junior Achievement Nigeria (JAN) Hosts National Secondary School Entrepreneurship Competition Posted: 12 Oct 2016 12:53 PM PDT Junior Achievement Nigeria (JAN) held its 2016 edition of its Senior Secondary School Entrepreneurship Competition. The competition, tagged “National Company of the Year Competition" #NCOY2016 held on Thursday October 6th at the Orchid Hotel, Ikota-Epe Expressway Lekki. Students and corporate bodies from various sectors were in attendance to witness the creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship skills of the winners from Jos, Enugu, Port Harcourt and Lagos. NCOY was facilitated by Gold sponsor, The Dangote Foundation; Silver Sponsor, Minerva University and Bronze Sponsor, Deliotte Nigeria. JAN's National Company of the Year Competition is an annual event that brings the JA Company Program winners of our Regional Competitions across Nigeria together to compete for the National Company of the Year Award. JA Company Program teaches Senior Secondary students how to start and run their own business from start to liquidation. They sell shares, raise start-up capital, pay dividends to shareholders and use 10% of their profit for a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity. The national winner will proceed to represent Nigeria against other JA Africa member-nation companies for the title of JA Africa Company of the Year in Zimbabwe this December. At NCOY, JA student companies present the results of their enterprise and evidence of innovation before a panel of independent judges and for a team to win this award it is not sufficient just to run a financially successful JA company or create an exciting product/service. JAN Students must demonstrate a holistic understanding of the company's performance as a team and their contributions as they defend their Annual Reports and host Trade booth displays. The judges for this year's competition were JAN Ambassador and Alumnus of JA Company Program, Mr. Tunji Eleso, Co-Founder, CoCreation Hub; Mr. Audu Maikori, Founder/President, Chocolate City; Mrs. Bukky Karibi-Whyte CEO/Founder The Bobby Taylor Company & Invicta Communications Limited and Mrs. Lola Oyeka, Country Public Affairs Officer, Nigeria & Ghana, CitiBank. The keynote address was delivered by JA Africa CEO/President, Mrs. Elizabeth Bintliff., who encouraged the students to push through with their visions despite the obstacles we face in Africa as they hold the key to successfully rebuilding our nations' economies. This year's competition showcased ingenuity in areas of technology and the use of recycled products, as we witnessed a rise in young women exploring areas of technology. The winners of the 2016 edition of NCOY was Team Innovative Minds (Innoms) hailing from Caro Favored College, Ajegunle. The members of Innovative Minds produced Neon advertising lights as their main product and black shoe polish, arts/crafts as their mini-products. The black shoe polish was sold to their fellow students, teachers and members of the community. They chose this product because everyone in their school wears black shoes and they believed their school could benefit from it. The revenue generated form their mini-products was used to produce the user friendly NEON Light which was sold to businesses within their community to support their advertising needs. Over the course of the school year they upgraded their product and created a version that was eco-friendly and did not require a power source. They also provided hands-on after sales service to patrons of their product. Their passion, sales pitch, accounting and community service project was undeniable to the judges and crowd present and they were declared the winner of the 2016 National Company of the Year Competition. The Innovative Minds will proceed to Zimbabwe this December to compete against their fellow JA Africa Member nations for the title of JA Africa Company of the Year. The Innovative Minds attribute a great deal of their success in achieving their vison to their mentor Mr. Kenneth Igwe, an Engineer who enlisted as volunteer to the students for the duration of their program. Keynote speaker, JA Africa CEO Mrs. Elizabeth Bintliff highlighted how Nigeria is producing some of the largest numbers of wealth creators on the African continent today. She said, "This vast country of immense and amazing potential reinvented the word “hustle” as many Nigerians have attained great heights in diverse fields of endeavor." She also added this point in her address to the youth in attendance, "Be intentional in making your parents understand the decisions you make with regards to the career choices you make, because it is important to bring your family along on your journey". Mrs. Bintliff encouraged the youth to dream big; create solutions where problems exist and operate with a high sense of integrity. Junior Achievement Nigeria is playing a pivotal role in rebuilding the economy from the ground-up by imbibing the entrepreneurial spirit in the youth at an early age through their free work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy programs for ages 5-27. These programs are facilitated by corporate sponsors and delivered by unpaid volunteers. We implore all corporate bodies to engage JA Nigeria by sponsoring a program through which their employees can volunteer and mentor the youth. We implore the general public to support entities like JAN and together we can build a nation of conscientious industry leaders. For more information visit www.ja-nigeria.org for more details on how to get involved and you can follow JA Nigeria on all social media outlets @JANigeria

Durant: Warriors Losing Championship Made Me Join Them Posted: 12 Oct 2016 12:15 PM PDT Who would have thought losing a NBA championship might result in something positive for the Warriors. Kevin Durant announced that his decision to join the Dubs was due to their slip up against the Cavaliers in the NBA finals. “[My agent] Rich [Kleiman], who’s here, we were watching Game 7,” Durant told reporters at a ceremony in which the Warriors were presented with the ENCORE Award from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. “Well, as it started to unfold, it was, ‘No question, no way could you go to this team.’ And I was just like a kid, like, ‘I’d really like playing with these guys. I’d get wide-open 3s, I could just run up and down the court, get wide-open layups.’ I was basically begging him. I was like, ‘Yo, this would be nice.'” Durant continued, explaining how his thinking changed as the Finals progressed and the Warriors went from being up 3-1 to losing the title. “As they lost, it became more and more real every day,” Durant said. “You start to think about it even more. To see if I would fit. Then once I sat down with these guys, everything that I wanted to know about them, they kinda showed me. But we don’t have to talk about [what would have happened if the Warriors had won the title], because they didn’t get the job done, and they came after me. “I guess you could say I’m glad that they lost.” Durant is averaging 18.3 points on 10 shots per game through three games this preseason. The Warriors’ first regular-season game with their newest All-Star is slated for Oct. 25 at home in Oakland against the San Antonio Spurs. Steve McClaren Confirmed As Derby County Manager Posted: 12 Oct 2016 08:41 AM PDT Derby have confirmed the appointment of Steve McClaren as manager. McClaren has signed a deal until the end of the 2017/18 season and returns to the club 17 months after he was sacked. In a statement on the club website, McClaren says: “I am excited to be back at Derby County as the club's manager. "I have a great affiliation with the club, having been here on three previous occasions, and I am really delighted at the prospect of finishing what we started back in September 2013. "I regret how my time at Derby ended back in 2015 and I am very motivated to put things right for the club and our supporters. "My ultimate aspiration remains exactly what it was before, to take Derby County back to the Premier League.” “This football club has fantastic ambition, brilliant supporters and wonderful backing from the Chairman Mel Morris. I am looking forward to working alongside Mel, as well as Sam Rush who initially brought me back here in 2013. Sam and I worked very well together previously and I am certain we can pick up where we left off. “For me, it was vitally important that Chris Powell and the existing team remained on the coaching staff. When I was assistant to Jim Smith in the 1990s, Chris was part of the squad and a key player for us. “He had a fine playing career, being capped by England as well as enjoying many years in the Premier League, so to have someone as talented as him as my assistant is really important.” Derby have had a miserable start to the Championship season and are currently in 20th spot, having picked up just 10 points from 11 games including two wins. Victor Anichebe : “Why I Choose To Sign For Sunderland” Posted: 12 Oct 2016 08:36 AM PDT Victor Anichebe has been talking about why he opted to join Sunderland in the summer rather than take ‘crazy offers’ from abroad. The striker penned a one-year deal with the Black Cats after leaving West Brom at the end of last season. “I was so close to going abroad, I wanted a change, but then the manager came in here and this was a good opportunity to stay in England and in the Premier League for another year," he told the Newcastle Chronicle. “There were a lot of offers to go all these kinds of places, crazy offers in different countries but sometimes money is not always everything. “The way I left West Brom, I didn't really want to leave without playing. I knew a long time before I left I was going to see out my contract and wanted to see the next opportunity. So, I took a long time to decide what I wanted to do. “I knew about Sunderland and the manager and a couple of other English teams, there was a lot of interest in the Championship too. Lower teams in the Premier League too and offers from abroad. “Some of them were very attractive. I like travelling and experiencing new things so maybe that is something I will look forward to in future.” The post Victor Anichebe : “Why I Choose To Sign For Sunderland” appeared first on 360Nobs.com. |
