Neymar has confirmed that he had talks with Manchester United during the summer, in an interview with ESPN.
You may recall the rumour surfacing in the final week of the transfer window that Manchester United were planning a sensational move for the Barcelona man, a story that was instantly ridiculed and poo-pooed by even the most well-informed journalists.
Why would Neymar, who had just won the Treble with one of the best Barcelona sides in history, leave the Catalan capital to join United, a team in construction?
Well, it turns out that talks did take place, but while Neymar does admit to it, he’s also simultaneously enigmatic.
He doesn’t, for instance, make it clear that he had no intention of listening to an offer….
